Sweet ‘n Sour Meatballs

Meatballs:

1 lb. ground beef

½ cup bread crumbs

½ cup water chestnuts, chopped

½ cup crushed pineapple

½ tsp. Ginger

¼ tsp. Sage

1 egg

¼ cup milk

½ tsp. Salt


Mix into meatballs and place on a cookie sheet. Bake at 350° for 30-35 minutes.


Sauce: 

3 Tbsp. soy sauce

¼ cup rice vinegar

½ cup brown sugar

1 ½ cup rest of pineapple & juice

2 tsp. beef bullion

3 cups water (divided)

3 Tbsp corn starch


In a large pan, mix together all ingredients except 1 of the cups of water and corn starch and bring to a boil. Mix the 1 cup of water with corn starch in a small bowl. Slowly stir in corn starch & water mixture. Let thicken by stirring. 


Add baked meatballs & serve over rice.
