Nutmeg Syrup

1 cup sugar
2 Tbsp. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
½ tsp. ground nutmeg
2 cups cold water
2 Tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla 

In a large saucepan, combine sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and water until smooth. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Remove from heat; stir in butter and vanilla.

Serve with waffles, pancakes or French toast.
